Simply Marvellous Creative was officially launched in 2010 by designer, Martin Rowsell who, having a love of art from a very young age, seemed always destined to follow a path that led into the creative industries.

After studying art, then design, at colleges in Southend-on-Sea and Wisbech his design education culminated in the acclaimed Graphic Design course at Somerset College of Art & Technology in Taunton. It was here that he discovered that not only did he have creative brain but one full of imaginative ideas.

After graduating from SCAT, he cut his teeth working in the wonderfully equipped and surprisingly creative design team in-house at insurance company, London & Edinburgh - part of the multi-national ITT group - based in Worthing. Here the young designer was able to gain an incredible knowledge of Apple Macs as well as all of the standard software used in the graphics industry.

It was also while working at London & Edinburgh that he met his wife and where other highlights included seeing his posters, designed for police and fire service insurance, displayed on the sets of TV shows The Bill and London's Burning!

The six years spent at London & Edinburgh was followed by a brief spell at Lewes-based Jackson Lowe Marketing before he was asked to join Downland Creative Services - later to become Brighton's leading full-service agency, Zerofiftyone, working on accounts for clients in the retail sector, local authorities, charities and finance on projects ranging from logos to flyers, advertising campaigns to brochures.

It was while employed at Zerofiftyone that the designer took it upon himself to learn how to build websites and he went on to design and build sites for shopping centres and financial services as well as an award-winning website for the Clean Kent Campaign. He also learnt how to create email newsletters and social media campaigns.

In 2005, he took on the role of managing the studio team to ensure that deadlines were met and projects flowed through the studio smoothly. He also played a key role in the company adopting a "green" policy and, while acting as Environmental Manager, Zerofiftyone became the first Brighton agency to gain CarbonNeutral status as well as achieving ISO14001 accreditation.

Simply Marvellous Creative began to evolve in 2009 when the website and promotional work for singer/songwriter Kami Thompson led onto working with Brighton-based life coaching organisation The Life Project, Icelandic singer Hafdis Huld, one of his musical heroes Boo Hewerdine and Hermione Hennessy (including the CD packaging for her Irish number one album, Songs My Father Taught Me).

After ten years, 2010 sees Martin Rowsell leave Zerofiftyone to make Simply Marvellous Creative a full-time project.
